Kings of War: 5 Games - 2,500 Points Plus Knight Champion

We will be collecting monetary donations at this event for the Minnesota Masonic Children's Clinic for Communication Disorders. This is a local clinic that is fully funded by donations. Some of the donations will be going to support local gaming clubs at schools for after school programming as well.

Chess Clocks must be used.
Each player is responsible for having a chess clock. (can be an App on your phone)
Each player will have 65 minutes per side which includes Deployment.
If time expires, players must immediately cease all further actions with their army.
This means put your dice down and don’t move another unit.
Players do NOT automatically lose when they run out of time.

All Mantic books are allowed that are current as of 30 days prior to the event.

Knight Champion
In addition to the main force, a Knight Champion will be added to the army.
This knight is considered part of the main force and
The knight must be chosen prior to the event and must remain the same for all games.
Players need to bring a model on a 50mm square base to represents a Knight Champion.
The player with the most impressive Knight Champion will win a trophy.
The Knight Champion is worth 200 victory points when routed.
All Knight Champions have the following profile

Players may upgrade their Knight Champion with up to 15 points worth of Artifacts. Any combination of artifacts up to 15 total points may be taken. This combination of artifacts does not count against the same artifact being taken by the main force of the army. Example: The Knight Champion takes the War Bow of Kaba and the Dwarfen Ale. This does not prevent the War Bow of Kaba or Dwarfen Ale from being taken by another unit in the main force.
Each Army may choose one Knight Champion for the tournament which will have the following additional rules:
Paladin or Anti-Paladin
Cavalry Height 3, Individual, Very Inspiring, Elite, Iron Resolve (1),
Crushing Strength (1), Thunderous Charge (2), Radiance of Life, Cloak of Death,
Duelist (6), Can carry Loot tokens.
Beast Rider
Large Cavalry, Height 4, Very Inspiring, Regeneration (5+), Crushing Strength (2), Thunderous Charge (1), Brutal (1), Decrease Speed to 7
Sky Rider
Large Cavalry, Height 5, Very Inspiring, Vicious, Fly, Nimble
Crushing Strength (1), Thunderous Charge (2), Increase Speed to 10
All Knight Champions can use the following Command Orders using 2 dice:
- Face Me with Honor – On a 4+, an enemy unit in range can NOT be affected by other Commands. This effect lasts until this player’s following turn.
- Knight’s Courage – On a 3+, the targeted unit gains Inspiring until this player’s following turn.
- For the King – On a 5+, the targeted unit gains Thunderous Charge +1 until the end of this turn.

This is an OPEN LIST tournament for the games and players must provide a copy of their army list to their opponents at the beginning of each game. Doing this will get you 1 tournament point per game. Bring copies of your army list for all of your opponents.
Models used may be from any product line or manufacturer.
All of the models used MUST be appropriate models for the units they are representing. If models are used as proxies, they must be easily recognized as the unit they are representing by your opponent or they will not be allowed.
Any model that will be used in the tournament MUST be placed on display for appearance score judging.
An additional appearance award will be awarded to the army with the best appearance score who’s army consists of at least 90% of Mantic models.
Please use base sizes that are appropriate for the unit the model(s) are representing.
If using dramatic basing for units, a unit is still required to have 50% plus 1 of the models on the movement base or tray for the unit it should be representing.

Players who donate $20 or more to “Gamers 4 Giving” will be given BONUS tournament points and will be allowed to re-roll ONE d6 per game for all 5 games of the tournament.

Donating will enter you in a drawing for prizes that will take place at the beginning of the award ceremony. Every $5 donated above and beyond the initial “re-roll” dice gift of $20 will get your name thrown in the hat for additional chances to win. Example: Player A donates $20, gets 1 chance to win and a re-roll die per game. Player B donates $40 ($20 + 4 more $5 increments), gets 5 chances to win and the re-roll die. Players may win more than once during the drawing on Sunday.
All terrain is preset with rules specific to each individual table. Players will be expected to leave the terrain in the same place and condition as they found it upon departing from their game.

Special scenario will be used in each game.
- Each player will be given 12 scenarios in the player pack.
- Each Scenario may only be used once by each player for the event.
- Scenarios are revealed by opponents at the same time prior
to choosing table sides.
- Battle Points are awarded based on the Scenarios
- Placing scenario tokens are not restricted by tokens from other scenarios.
When a Scenario card is revealed, the objectives apply to BOTH players.
Players will also be awarded 1 Battle Point for each of the following each game:
- Killing 0-1199 points of the opposing force
- Killing 1200-1899 points of the opposing force
- Killing 1900 points or more of the opposing force
- Control more Terrain Points than their opponent at the end of the game.
A display plaque will be placed at each table outlining the rules for the table including the deployment zone that should be used.

Tournament scoring is based on Battle Points, Painting Scores and Sportsmanship.
125 Total Tournament Points (50 Battle / 30 Painting / 30 Sportsmanship / 15 Bonus)
Scoring breaks down as follows:
Battle Points –
Up to 10 points per game. 50 points maximum for the tournament.
Each game played will award you from 1-10 tournament points
Sportsmanship Points –
Up to 30 points maximum for the tournament broken down as follows:
Receive 1 point for showing up to each game on time and prepared to play.
Receive 1 point for giving your opponent a printed copy of your army list.
Receive 1 point for each “Good Game” vote by your opponent for each round.
Receive 1 point for each "I would play against the army again" vote.
Receive 2 points for each “Best Game” vote by your opponents.
Note: Best Game votes for both Day 1 and Day 2.
Appearance Points -
Up to 30 points maximum for the tournament
Self-judging checklist for players for up to 19 possible points
- To maximize these points, armies should be painted to a 3 color minimum standard, have a consistent basing scheme, have matching movement trays or diorama style bases, have a matching display board with their name plaque, consistent army painting scheme, models highlighted and shaded, as well as converted models.
Judges will double check self-scoring and award up to 11 additional points.
If you have not painted your army mostly yourself, you will be awarded no additional judging points for your final score. Therefore, the maximum total points that a player can receive for an army they didn’t mostly paint themselves is 19. All models used in the tournament MUST be a part of your paint judging display.

Up to 15 bonus points can be gained
- Receive 8 points for registering & paying by July 30th.
- Receive 5 points for participating in the “Gamers 4 Giving” charity.
- Receive 2 points for submitting a model in the Individual Miniature Painting Contest
Individual Miniature Painting Contest
A model entered into this contest MUST be a model that is NOT a part of your army used in the tournament. The model will be displayed for the duration of the tournament and must be turned in to the TO at the time of registration Saturday morning. The model must be a “fantasy” themed model, but can be produced by any manufacturer.
Points will be awarded for overall look, cleanness of painting, basing, modeling, shading, details, etcetera.
2 GT tournament bonus points will be awarded for participating in this contest.
A trophy will be awarded to the winner as well as 2nd and 3rd place.
